Coaching Supervision:

Experience Coaching Supervision Through Three Lenses

ICF Philadelphia is excited to announce that we will be offering Coaching Supervision Demonstrations. Ken Giglio, Principal of Mindful Leadership Consulting, and a certified coach supervisor, will be leading supervision groups along with Lynn DeLay, Certified Coaching Supervisor, based on Mindful Leadership’s Tri-Lens Coaching Supervision Model™. The sessions will be tailored toward the unique challenges that come with coaching situations for coaches working with clients internally or externally. These virtual Supervision Demonstrations will be offered twice in 2023 and will include 1.5 hours of demonstration.

Coaching Supervision is a collaborative learning practice to continually build the capacity of the coach through reflective dialogue for the benefit of the coaches, their clients, and their organizations (adapted ICF definition). Group supervision uniquely provides a space for collective reflection and learning. Coaches explore the depth and breadth of their coaching work through three lenses—self as coach; relationship with the client; and influence of the system/s in which the client works. The group experience is designed to introduce coaches to the experience of supervision through demonstration.  Coaching Supervision as a practice builds a coach’s confidence, competence, connection, creativity, and compassion.

The ICF recognizes coaching supervision as part of a coach’s continuing professional development, and up to 10 hours of coaching supervision (delivering and/or receiving) will be counted toward Continuing Coach Education requirements. (Note: ongoing coaching supervision is a required practice by European and Australian coaching bodies, and it is also required by a growing number of corporations for coaches to obtain work.)

Pre-work for Group Coaching Supervision:
Please come prepared to present to the group a coaching case or theme/s from your coaching practice that you are curious about, have questions around, or may be struggling with. Reflect on how this coaching situation is impacting you and your relationship with your coaching client, and also reflect on how the system in which the client works might be impacting the coaching engagement. Ask yourself,
What am I noticing?

What am I sensing in my body and my surroundings?

Schedule of Group Coaching Supervision Demonstrations: 6/14/2023 and 10/25/2023

Learning Objectives:

1 - Been introduced to an integrative coaching supervision model (Tri-Lens) related to reflective practice for learning and development that builds capacity to view coaching work from a systems perspective

2 - Experimented and observed coaching supervision conversations to deepen insight and broaden awareness of how best to engage coaching clients within organizational systems

3 - Assessed their coaching work through a systemic, reflective practice
